Blessing of the Animals

Announcing the return of the “Blessing of the Animals” event to our church! In appreciation for all the positive ways animals impact the members of Tampa’s community, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church will host this event on March 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the area between the rectory and Stokes Hall. The focus of the event will be a blessing of our pets for their health and safety.  They are a blessing…let’s return the favor!  This coincides with the Feast of St Gertrude of Nivelles, Patron Saint of Animals.
Please bring your well-behaved pet to this heartwarming ceremony.  We would love to see you all there with your pet leashed or in a carrier! Not only would we love to see you, we would like you to spread the word to family, friends and co-workers (all are welcome!) and have them attend as well. 
There is NO fee or charge for attending the Blessing of the Animals, parking is also free while it lasts across the street from the church. 
While there is no fee for the event or for parking, donations are always welcome.  There will be door prizes! And of course, a raffle.
Dog treats, litter bags, and kitty treats will be provided to owners, and water dishes will be placed around the property to be available for our pets who get thirsty. Any pet spiders (or squirrels) are on their own.
