The Plant City Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking a Membership Coordinator.
Job Description:
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for driving membership growth at the Plant City Chamber of Commerce by actively seeking and acquiring new members. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Chamber’s mission to provide value to businesses in the community, fostering economic development, and strengthening the Chamber’s role as a leader in the region.
Duties:
Membership Acquisition:
- Identify, prospect, and engage with potential new members within the Plant City business community.
- Conduct outreach through cold calls, emails, and in-person meetings to promote Chamber membership.
- Host informational meetings and tours to engage prospective members and provide insight into Chamber benefits.
- Present the Chamber’s value proposition and services to businesses and organizations across various industries.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and potential members.
- Engage with members to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions that align with Chamber offerings.
- Follow up with prospective members to address questions and overcome objections, converting leads to active members.
- Meet or exceed membership sales targets and goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain detailed records of membership sales activities and contacts in the CRM system.
- Provide reports on sales progress, trends, and membership feedback to the President/CEO.
- Collaborate with the Member Services team to ensure successful onboarding of new members and promote active participation.
- Help facilitate Chamber events, programs, and networking opportunities that encourage member involvement and retention.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and local business developments to identify new opportunities for membership growth.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve membership packages and services.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous sales, marketing, or customer service experience is preferred.
- Experience in a membership-based organization or chamber of commerce is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and develop strong relationships with diverse businesses and professionals.
- Highly motivated with a results-driven mindset and the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, with flexibility for evening or weekend events as needed.
- Occasional travel within the Plant City area for outreach and events.
- This position will require attendance at various Chamber events, meetings, and networking functions.
